I wish I could say the problems ended there. We moved in about a week after they finished painting. Although the contract specifically states they will clean up after themselves daily and do a thorough cleaning upon completion, it was not done. Normally this would be a minor annoyance, however, they left plaster material on the light bulbs in our kids' bathrooms. We didn't notice this until one night as we were putting the kids to bed we began to smell smoke. Luckily we were able to find the source and remove the light bulbs before any damage was caused, but this could have been a very dangerous situation.

There was a lot of area to paint as we were having our entire house done. However, I am not sure how the job could have been much simpler. The house was empty, the carpet was being replaced after the job, they were able to start a week early and the house was all being done in a single color scheme. Despite all this working in our favor, the job was an absolute mess. I spent at least an hour the first night doing my first walk through, and the guys came in the next day to again fix things. Almost none of the issues I found were fixed although all the tape marks were removed. I then wasted several more hours the following night, marking everything to make sure the job was finally done right. I had to meet the new crew again at the house the next afternoon to go over everything with them. The plan was they would spend the rest of that day and the next working to make it perfect. The next day around lunch I received a text saying they would be done within the hour and asking if I could come have a look. I was at a birthday party with my kids so I agreed to meet them at 1, and we rushed out as soon as we could. When I arrived at the house at 1, less than 50% of the spots I marked were done, and they had just started redoing the bathroom walls (I had paid extra to have these walls smoothed out and the job they did was an embarrassment). The crew leader said he wanted me to stay and verify each spot as they fixed it. I then wasted the next 3 hours sitting at the house with my two little kids watching them fix the rest of the house. The spots left to fix were well marked and obvious to anyone who cared enough to try. At this point, I had wasted at least an eight hour day at the house managing a project I paid them to manage.

Their contract specifically states they will put 2 coats of paint on everything and fill/prep all walls. We can say we are now sure this is not what we got. We found two linen closets on the second floor which were not painted at all, and many areas of trim which we are absolutely certain at this point were not painted at all. The color we chose for the trim was very similar to the existing color in several rooms, and we are sure where they thought they could get away with it they just did not paint. The problem is the old color was shiny and the new color is flat so spots not painted are obvious. There are spots all throughout the house where you can clearly see the old paint color on the walls, and there is just no way they missed all of these spots twice. Plus as we have continued to do some projects around the house, a contractor chipped some paint in a hallway. You can clearly see from this damage that there is only one coat of paint on the walls.
I requested quotes to paint the house from 8 different companies. This company was recommended by a neighbor on the NextDoor website, had multiple good reviews on Google and Yelp (however now that I know the names of the company employees I realize these reviews were mostly posted by them), and I really appreciated their initial prompt responses to my inquires.
